A string of sad news came this week in the form of passing for three actors that involved themselves in animation.

Kazuya Tatekabe the voice actor of Takeshi “Gian” Goda (Big G in the English dub) for the second Doraemon animation passed away on June 19th. The case of his death was from acute respiratory failure. The voice actor did work for Doraemon as well as Yatterman(Tonzura), with recent credits in Fairy Tail (Roubaul) and Ghost in the Shell: Solid State Society (Colonel Tonoda). He was 80 years old.

Monica Lewis died on June 12th from natural causes. Lewis, started in multiple films such as The Strip with Mickey Rooney and guest appearances on television such as Marcus Welby, M.D. An accomplished singer, she became most well known for her voice acting in the Chiquita Banana cartoons where she would remind watchers to not store bananas in the fridge. She was 93 years old of her passing.

Gilbert Lewis also known as Tookie died peacefully on June 10th. Lewis played the King of Cartoons on Pee-wee’s Playhouse where he would introduce the audience to classic cartoons during the CBS Saturday morning block. The actor appeared on shows such as the Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, Law & Order, and Cheers, as well as Body and Soul and the 1971 version of The Pursuit of Happiness. He was 79 years old.
