Kung Fu Panda 3 has new art, and new people. USA Today sat down with Jack Black (Kung Fu Panda 2, Goosebumps The Movie) to talk about the brand new movie coming out January 29, 2016. In it we find out that Po will meet a slew of pandas including a female panda named, Mei Mei a ribbon dancer in the making, and his long lost father Li. He will then will have to train his newly found panda village to fight against the newest threat, Kai.

The cast will have the original actors, but there will be new faces for the new pandas including Bryan Cranston which USA Today also talked to about the movie. (Godzilla, Breaking Bad). Cranston talks about not only joining the casts but the relatable feeling of Po reuniting with Li. The director Jennifer Yuh Nelson went to study pandas at Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding so she could integrate what she learned about pandas into the movie to make the scenes more believable.
In other news, the LA Times recently delved into how Chinese investors as well as Dreamworks are betting that Kung Fu Panda 3 becomes a success. While China has seen their regular animation efforts do solid in their country, a lot of Dreamwork’s properties smashed the box-office. So China Media Capital, Shanghai Media Group, and Dreamworks worked together to create Oriental Dreamworks so that while the investor groups gain knowledge about animated works and can develop better properties, Dremaworks can keep more of the box office receipts. Oriental Dreamworks rides on Panda 3 because if successful, everyone wins.
