Get ready for Minion games! Electronic Arts signed a mutli-year deal with Illumination Entertainment to bring Illumination’s IPs to the gaming world. This collaboration will see Illumination IPs such as Minions and future IPs such as Uglydoll and The Secret Life of Pets used for mobile games. First up is a movie game tie in called Minions Paradise. This game will having players helping to build a Minion paradise as Phil, a new character created for the game. The game comes out this summer to co-inside with the movie.
While we all joke about mobile games, EA has seen major growth in the area. They’ve seen 25% increase in sales, hitting $139 million (USD) and that’s with a nerf from declining feature phones games. Without that nerf they go up to 28%. Meanwhile, Minions comes out on July 10 in the United states and you can catch the 3rd trailer below.
