One of the more interesting things DC Comics is doing is creating “DC Superhero Girls” for girls featuring a slew of DC female heroes. DC hopes that this line will probably broaden their market and attract new voracious readers to DC Comics. Janelle Asselin of Comics Alliance goes into detail about what this strategy means for women and girls as well as DC comics in general. What’s interesting about the read is the way Asselin shows the optimism of this line by DC cooperation with Random House as well as their push to put women characters in the action figures line. I’m hoping that optimism becomes reality.
